2025 FRONTIER LEAGUE PREVIEWS: EVANSVILLE OTTERS
This year is set to be a special one in Evansville, with the Otters celebrating their 30th anniversary as a team, all with the Frontier League. The Otters had somewhat of a down year in 2024 after making the Frontier League Championship Series the year prior. The team will be looking to make a jump back to contention in 2025 behind Andy McCauley, the second all-time winningest manager in league history.
The Otters are another Frontier League team with a significant alumni presence in Major League Baseball organizations. Noah Myers, who won the Jason Simontacchi Rookie of the Year award in 2023, is currently with the Tampa Bay Rays High-A affiliate and recently appeared in the team’s 2025 Spring Breakout Game. Outfielder Patrick Lee only played 14 games with Evansville before being signed by the Detroit Tigers last summer; he appeared in multiple spring training games for the club and is currently at Double-A Erie.
The Otters will be bringing out a new set of promotions to celebrate their 30th anniversary season. Headlining these new events will be their Opening Night Anniversary Celebration on May 9 that will include a jersey auction. The team will also don special themed jerseys for their Flag Day game on June 14. Other new promotions include Evansville Sports History Night on June 18 and Pirate Night on July 11. These new promotions will go along with returning fan favorites, such as Margaritaville Night on May 15 and Star Wars Night on August 23.
Along with a hallmark anniversary for the team, historic Bosse Field will be turning 111 years old in 2025. The third-oldest active baseball stadium has been the home of the Otters since their inception in 1995. Bosse Field hosted more than 96,000 fans last season and was a catalyst for the Frontier League’s per-game attendance increase in 2024.
The Otters will open their 30th anniversary season on May 8 when they host the Gateway Grizzlies. For tickets and more information on Evansville’s extensive promotional schedule, check out evansvilleotters.com.
