BRYAN PENA WINS PITCHER OF THE WEEK

AVON, OH – Bryan Pena of the Ottawa Titans has been named the Frontier League Pitcher of the Week.

Right-hander Bryan Pena started the first game of a doubleheader for the Ottawa Titans against the Sussex County Miners on Saturday and went the full seven innings without allowing a run to grab his fifth victory of the season. Pena was in elite form, surrendering only three hits and one walk while collecting 10 strikeouts.

Pena is the third member of the Titans to win a weekly award and the second pitcher, following Grant Larson from the week of June 10th. His second season in Ottawa is proving to be the best of his professional career, collecting 82 strikeouts in 63 innings and a career-best 4.57 ERA. The former Washington farmhand currently leads the Titans in strikeouts and is tied for second in wins with five.
