2025 FRONTIER LEAGUE PREVIEWS: TROIS-RIVIÈRES AIGLES
The Trois-Rivières Aigles were on the verge of their first postseason berth as a member of the Frontier League at several points throughout the 2024 season. They ultimately ended the regular season on the outside the playoff picture looking in after a tough stretch in August. 2025 will be a year of rebirth for the Aigles, led by new field manager Jonathan Albaladejo.
Albaladejo was announced as Trois-Rivières’s new manager in October. The former Washington National and New York Yankee reliever had previously been the pitching coach for the Empire State Greys and the Lake Erie Crushers. Albaladejo was extremely successful in Lake Erie last season, as shown by the Crushers’ staff owning the second-lowest ERA in the Frontier League. The Aigles have made it clear that they are constructing their 2025 roster in line with their new manager’s vision, with an organizational focus on championship contention.
The team also used the offseason to reorganize its front office. René Martin will now serve as general manager in addition to his duties as the Aigles president. He will be closely supported by Marc-Antoine Lefebvre, who was named the team's deputy general manager back in January.
Trois-Rivières experienced several marketing and promotional breakthroughs that they are looking forward to expanding on for the 2025 season. Last year saw the first display of postgame fireworks at Stade Quillorama and the creation of the Aigles’ postgame concert series. The team hosted three shows that were performed on the new mobile BMR Pierre Naud stage; the concept brought a party-like atmosphere to Aigles games that received ecstatic reviews from fans. The full promotional schedule will be announced by the team in the coming weeks.
The Aigles will open their fourth season in the Frontier League at Sussex County on May 8. To keep up with team updates, purchase tickets, and more, visit lesaiglestr.com.
