2025 FRONTIER LEAGUE PREVIEWS: BROCKTON ROX

The Brockton Rox are back! One of the most exciting news pieces to come out of the winter was the revival of the Rox, who will take over the team formerly known as the New England Knockouts and call Campanelli Stadium their home.

Previously, the Rox name was attached to the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. Before that, the team was a part of the Northern League East, the Northeast League, and the Canadian-American Association at various points from its formation in 2002 until it joined the Futures League in 2012.

Brockton’s return to professional baseball has been spearheaded by a new ownership group that includes Bill Janetschek, Rob Janetschek, Shawn Reilly and Jim Rice. Bill has been an owner of several minor league franchises, most prominently with the Greenville Drive (Boston Red Sox Single-A) and Salem Red Sox (Boston Red Sox High-A). Rob Janetschek and Shawn Reilly currently oversee operations of the New York Boulders, who joined the Frontier League in 2019.

Former Red Sox and Hall of Famer Jim Rice will also have an active hand in Brockton’s “Revival Season” as a minority owner. Outside of being a team ambassador, Rice is looking to expand baseball in the youth community around Campanelli Stadium and in the greater Boston area.

The Rox will host a number of daily promotions throughout the summer, including pre-game concerts on Fridays, and fireworks on Saturdays. Brockton will also be hosting a huge block party during the weekend of their home opener for fans in the local area. Other promotions to be featured will be a STEM Night that will include a drone show, Irish Heritage Night, and specialty jerseys during the week of Independence Day. All promotional dates and details will be announced by the team in the coming weeks!

The Rox will begin their Revival Season with a road series against the Tri-City ValleyCats on May 9. Season tickets are now available; individual tickets will go on sale in April. For more ticket information, promotional dates, and details about the Rox, be sure to visit brocktonrox.com!
