The Rascals wasted no time scoring their first run of the game, as it came in the 1st inning. Cody Livesay lead off the inning with a walk, then advanced to 3rd on a wild pickoff attempt from Tyler Jandron. Livesay was brought home courtesy of a double from Trevor Achenbach.
The Slammers went quietly in the 1st inning, but that changed in the bottom half of the 2nd. With 2 outs, Brian Parreira launched his 2nd homerun of the season off of the firework sign in right field, tying the game at 1.
The Slammers would get the bats going in the bottom of the 5thinning. They sent 9 men to the plate and scored 4 runs. Brian Parreira, Tyler Coolbaugh, and Riley Krane all hit doubles in the inning. Lj Kalawaia and Harrison Bragg also joined the hit parade with singles of their own. This would spell the end of the night for Rascals starter, Michael McCraith.
Trailing 5-1 in the top of 7th inning, the Rascals would tie the game after scoring 4 runs of their own. Cody Clark came on in relief for the Slammers, and the Rascals loaded the bases before he recorded an out. The Rascals went station-to-station and batted around on their way to completing the comeback. Clark would be charged for all 4 runs in the inning.
Brian Parreira continued his huge night in the bottom of the 8th. With two outs, and Tyler Bordner on 2nd, Parreira dropped a bloop single down the right field line to bring home Bordner and give the Slammers a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the 8th. That was Parreira’s 2nd RBI of the night.
Tyler Jandron gave the Slammers everything he had, plus some. After allowing a run in the 1st, he sat down the next 12 batters he faced, including striking out 9 of the 12. Jandron finished the day with 11 strikeouts, he even struck out 4 in one inning. Jandron’s final line: 6 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 13 K.
Michael McCraith didn’t get the outing he was hoping for the Rascals. He only pitched 4.1 innings, allowing 5 runs. McCraith did strikeout 5 while only walking 1, but it wasn’t enough as the Slammers roughed him up.
